І. Introduction to the class
ІІ. Warming-ups:
- Phonetic drills: try to read tongue-twisters very quickly (see HO1)
- Conversational drills
- Present your ‘ABC of Professions’
ІІІ. Main part of the lesson:
- Vocabulary and speaking practice:
- Give different names of professions (see HO1)
- Guess the professions by their descriptions
- Game tournament: name 2 jobs which…
- Work with ‘Myths about Choosing Career’, be ready to do the tasks.
- Writing practice:
- Fill in the application form
- Fill in adverbs ‘Making the right impression’ (see HO2)

- Pre-watching task: Your advice to people going to job interview
- While-watching-task: watch the video and try to remember all nuances

- Reading practice: Jigsaw reading
Let’s look forward into your nearest future and try to choose your future career/profession. You’ll work in groups. You’re to work with different texts. Be ready to read the sentences in a chain and try to guess the profession.
- Speaking practice:
- Choosing profession of a teacher. Have you ever thought about such career? Your task is to prepare ‘Pros and Cons’ of this noble profession. I’ll divide you into 2 halves, discuss all points and be ready to present us your ideas.
- Think of non-traditional careers for men and women
- Short interview. Ask our guests some questions which you like.
- Moving game: Express your thoughts concerning my statements.
- Game ‘Who Am I?’
- Discuss the quote: ’How do we expect young people to dream, if they don’t know what they can dream about?’
- Express your wishes to classmates (use stickers).
